BIOIDENTICAL HORMONES
Bioidentical hormones are hormones that have the same structure as the hormones produced by the body. When discussing bioidentical hormone replacement during perimenopause and menopause we are usually referring to estradiol, estriol, estrone, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA. The goal is to restore hormone levels and increase vitality and health without increasing the risk of cancer and other disease. It is important to know your baseline hormone levels and have a total health assessment before using hormones. Hormones are small molecules that have powerful effects.
